I am currently in NYC for work so during the weekends my friend and I are usually brunching and shopping. Last weekend we were shopping in SOHO and wondered into a Birchbox store! I was so excited since I have subscribed to Birchbox before. The store had lots of things to buy BUT my favorite part was the build your own box section!
At the counter a very friendly sales person explained to my friend and I how the BYOB worked. The samples are divided in 5 sections, Body & Nails, Skincare, Fragrance, Hair, and Makeup. The makeup section was my favorite and I wanted all of them but you have to pick one sample from each category.
The price of a BYOB is $15. It is $5 more than the subscription but you get to pick samples you want to try and you don’t have to wait to get it once your purchase it. For me, the extra $5 isn’t a big deal since I am impatient and I like getting things NOW! Also its good for people who are more picky since you get to pick the ones you want to get. I’m not picky BUT it is nice to pick out ones I prefer!
My BYOB consisted of the following:
Whish Shave Cream– They had 3 items for the Body & Nails sections and I already owned the other 2 so this was my obvious pick. It was actually pretty good because I didn’t pack any shaving cream when I moved up to NYC last week!
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit– There was a caption by this product in the skincare section that said it sold every 23 seconds in the UK. It must be good right?!
Tocca Eau de Parfum, Florence– Out of the fragrance section, I wanted to try this citrus scent with flowery accents.
Beauty Protector– In the hair section, I picked this because I love leave in conditioners and hair protectors.
Cynthia Rowley Black Eyeliner– Even though there were lots of good things in the makeup section I decided on a black eyeliner (I can never have enough right?). There are lots of good reviews on this already on Birchbox so why not?!
It was fun building my own! I also noticed the samples were all deluxe sample sizes, no packets here!
