from Nancy
Who inspired your discovery of makeup?– No one really did. I had bad acne when I was younger and was always on a hunt to find makeup to hide it. Eventually I started buying more things than concealer and foundation!
What is your first makeup memory?– I was bored and home alone one day. I was going through my mom’s stuff and started playing with her mascara.
What was your biggest makeup faux pas?– Cakey and non matching foundation. When I was younger I didn’t invest in good makeup and I was so bad at color matching.
Which look do you wish you invented. – I LOVE the smokey eye look. I wish I could wear it to work everyday. I work in a corporate environment, people don’t really do fun makeup looks.
What is your definition of beauty?– Anything pleasing to YOUR eye. We all have different perceptions of everything, beauty as well. Did that sound corny? I hope not because I really hate corny people…
What is one of your dirty little makeup secrets?– I use Milk of Magnesia as a primer before my real primer to help control oil 🙂
Why did you name your blog, that name?– “geniabeme” has been my online alias since I was like 8 (when AOL was popular!!) and it just stuck.
How many monthly subscription services to you belong?– Currently, 4, but I am cutting down to two. Birchbox and Beauty Army.
If you could only film or only write, which one would you choose and why?– Probably write, I HATE my voice. Whenever I call and its an automated service, I have to talk in my man voice for them to pick up the words I’m saying.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a new blogger?– Don’t stress on subscriber counts, followers, etc.. Its not fun to read about how many subscribers you have in every post.
What is the one piece of advice you are grateful someone shared with you?– “Don’t stress about something that you can’t control.” I use to get really stressed about work and my personal life which led to being very angry. Someone told me this one day and its seriously the best advice. It’s so true!

What do you like most about your personality?– Hmm.. hard question, I’m going to pass!!
Do you have any funny nicknames?– “kom ba chi”- it means “reading a newspaper” in Mandrin. My friend was learning Chinese and liked the way it sounded. He’s a weirdo, I know.
What is your favorite nail polish color and/or eye shadow to wear?– Anything pink and or sparkly!! The brighter, the better.
If you could have a different accent, which one would you like to have?– I wouldn’t want one! I like not having a distinct accent. People never know I’m Asian when they talk to me on the phone and are usually surprised if I meet them in person.
Coke products or Pepsi products?– Coke! Preferably a diet coke with a lime.
If you had the chance to create your very own nail polish color for a company, what would it look like and what would you name it?– Pink.. DUH.. and sparkly! I would name it geniabeme to match my blog 🙂
What is your all time favorite movie?– Chuck and Larry! BUT Hunger Games is here.. so I might change this on Sunday when I see it!What are you wearing on your nails this very second?-– China Glaze Pool Party with Zoya’s Maisie on top!
What are your 3 favorite nail polish/makeup brands?– Too Faced (love their packaging and designs), MAC (this is the first brand I became obsessed with), and MUFE (love their face products)
What is your favorite scent?– I have always loved Clinique Happy.

This was so neat to read! I like getting to know my favourite bloggers so I'm glad you did this tag Eugenia 🙂 I love the smokey eye look too and I'll always do some variant of it (like a "less smokey eye" hehe) even if I'm in a corporate environment.
"What do you think is your best physical feature?- I will have to say.. the doctor did a good job on it ;)"
I love your answer. Be proud! ;P
I think acne is bittersweet. Usually if you experience it, you end up getting really knowledgeable in skincare and makeup.
