I can not begin to tell you how excited I am to share my newest discovery! I have oily skin (sorry if you have heard this for the 10000th time from me!) and I am ALWAYS on a look out for new primers and products to keep from looking like a greasy slop! I was sent Reviva Makeup Primer to try. This primer on top of another product (we will get to this at the end) will help make your face matte even with oily skin!
I was a little skeptical after reading the ingredients. Olive oil?! I would never imagine putting something with oil on my oily face, but I did it anyways 🙂 I like the pump it comes with. I’m sort of lazy and don’t like recapping things so this is perfect. If you look through my bathroom.. a lot of things don’t have caps on them… I need to work on that :/
The texture is similar to other name brand primers. Its clear and very silky. Usually primers with this texture don’t work for me. I first tried it right after my moisturizer. It made my face feel very smooth. I applied my makeup as usual and everything was fine. I wore my makeup for more than 8 hours that day. By the end of the day I was definitely shiny. My makeup didn’t really fade but my oiliness came through 🙁

The next day I tried it differently. I always like to try products differently before I say I hate something. I put on my moisturizer, then a thin layer of Milk of Magnesia, then the makeup primer. I finished my usual makeup. I used the same makeup I did the day before. UM.. AMAZING!! My face was MATTE the WHOLE day! I did not have to use blotting paper or additional blotting powder throughout the day. This is a MIRACLE for me. I can’t even describe in words how excited I was/ am! At the end of the day it does leave my skin a little dry, BUT to me its worth it. I’d rather have a teeny bit of dryness than an oily face! I’ve been using this primer everyday and I’m hooked! I will definitely be repurchasing when its gone!

I HIGHLY recommend this combo of Reviva Makeup Primer with Milk of Magnesia for oily skin! I can also see this working for people who have normal skin because the texture is very similar to other primers that I hear work on normal skin. Have you tried this? I want to know what you think! Are you loving this primer as much as I am?
