I decided to work a little bit on Sunday, but I decided to stop in Ulta to procrastinate before. Needless to say, it worked. I ended up getting a demo done on me by a Napoleon MUA. She had me had “airbrush”. Who doesn’t want airbrushed skin?! Before she started, she showed me the product on the display wall. I saw the price tag ($49.00) and decided I wasn’t going to buy it… then she put it on me. That thought went out the window.
The color the MUA used on me was “3”. She said that this can be used OVER the makeup I had currently. When this is done it basically seals the current makeup. She explained to me the foundation was water resistence and works great at the pool and beach. Before she started to apply it on me, she sprayed it all over herself, hair and clothes too! She was showing me that it doesn’t get in your hair or clothes… WHAT?! Crazy, no color was visible in her black hair or black shirt. She sprayed the foundation over the makeup I had. It was a perfect match. Currently I am being a bad Floridian and have not tanned in months. I am probably around a NC35-37. The “3” was a perfect match. I actually purchased the shade up, 4, because I tan really easily and I was planing to start laying out soon.
After I purchased this, I tried it two ways. I tried it with just the Boudoir Mist Spray foundation by itself and again over my usual everyday makeup. Both ways worked beautifully! When I used it by itself I sprayed it over my face about two times and then went back for spot treatments (direct sprays) to hide blemish marks and what not. When I used it on top of my mineral makeup, I just lightly did one spray. Not only is the coverage good when used alone, but it give you a great finish when applied on top of makeup. Its not really matte but it gives a very nice “glow”. It also feels like your skin when it dries. Not cakey at all. It controlled my oil pretty good. I had to blot throughout the day but non of my actual makeup came off. No concealer is needed with this!
Here is a little example to show this foundation’s coverage. This is in shade 4.
ONE– My little freckle chilling.
TWO– One direct spritz on.
THREE– Second spray in a line to even it out.
The one and only con, is the price. It retails around $49. I usually use this on top of makeup for special occasions or when I go out on the weekends. I would love to wear it alone as my everyday foundation BUT I would be broke! When I run out I will most likely purchase again and use it for special nights or events.
DISCLAIMER: I purchased this myself.
