I am really liking Kevin Aucoin Palette 6. It has light and dark colors to make a variety of looks. I actually have the book Making Faces so I was excited to give this baby a try. Also, I am a HUGE fan of palettes because when I travel I can just pack one or two. I try to be a light packer so I TRY to limit my makeup items, even though it doesn’t work out most of the time.
On my eyes I used all the colors in the Kevin Aucoin Palette 6. I also used Inglot Colorplay Eyeliner in Blue for my waterline and Kat Von D Tattoo liner.
I wore this to meet up with Phyrra and her hubby for lunch at Mellow Mushroom awhile back. I love lunch dates with them, its always a good time and fun conversation topics!
The colors are very pigmented. Below are swatches of the shades in the palette starting with black and moving clockwise as well as darkest to lightest. You can make a day look and transform it to a night look just by adding more of the darker colors and/or smoking your look out with the blueish gray. Its pretty awesome, except for the stupid applicators it comes with. As you can see its not pictured. Why is it not here you ask, well its because they are in the trash!! I never use them and I always end up dropping them. Being the lazy person I am, I DO NOT LIKE TO PICK THOSE STUPID THINGS UP, so I throw them away now. End rant!
I recommend a primer before applying the color though. I tried it both way and without a primer the colors are not as vibrant even with lots of packing on. With the primer the colors are gorgeous, easy to blend, and last the whole day. My favorite colors in this palette are the light blue and blue grayish color. I don’t have any colors like that so I think that’s why keep going back to this palette just for those shades!
Have you tried any Kevin Aucoin palettes? Let me know which ones you like if you have!
