I was very excited to finally get my hands on CoverFX BB Gel! After a a couple of weeks using this in different ways, I am in love with this. I went through many emotions and had many different opinions when I was testing this out. First thing first, lets talk more about this BB Gel and why it’s different than all the other BB Creams out there.
This is specifically made for oily and acne prone skin. THANK YOU for thinking about us Vic! It is suppose to mattify, make pores smaller, and help with pimples.
“Salicylic Acid and Thyme extract treat blemishes (even hormonal acne) while Babchi Seed Extract increases cell renewal. Contains EVERMAT ™ which reduces the production of sebum, shrinks pore size and controls shine. Laponite ™ acts like a natural clay, retaining up to 8% of its weight in water leaving skin matte without drying. Vitamin C+E provide powerful protection from environmental stresses and protect against premature skin aging. Phytosphingosine plus Bisabolol, reduce redness and soothe inflammation. SK-influx V + a synergistic blend of Ceramides restore the skin’s protective moisture barrier and improve elasticity.“
So I tried this 3 different ways.
1- I tried this by itself, no primer, no powder on top. The pigmentation in this thing is amazing! It really covers like a medium-full coverage foundation BUT feels so light. The texture is so neat because it does feel like a quick drying gel. I only needed a teeny bit to cover my whole face. I went back to cover some dark spots. The first thing that amazed me was that this actually dried matte. This hardly ever happens to me with any kind of BB cream or even liquid foundation! I was very impressed. Sadly that was the extent of my amazement on this trial. It started fading off really fast. I guess my oils were just fighting really hard to get it off!
2- Next I tried the BB Gel on top of CoverFX SPF 30 Primer and then set it with CoverFX Setting powder. So after I used the primer and the powder my face looked amazing! It looked completely airbrushed, I mean I was super impressed. In 3 hours though, I was sad. My face looked really cakey and I was really oily again.
3- Then I tried using the BB Gel with a primer (this time I used the CoverFX Mattifying Primer) and dust of powder on top. This time, I brought the whole tube with me. I was doing errands and would be hanging outside at some point. Every 2 hours or so I would reapply the BB Gel on my cheeks (this seems to be the one place it comes off). This worked great! My face stayed pretty matte the whole day and while I was indoors I didn’t really need to touch up. I think with the humidity in FL and my oily skin, it makes any makeup harder to stay on. Since I only need the smallest amount I don’t think reapplying throughout the day will waste product since I use so little in the first place. I probably lasted over a little bit over 8 hours with 2 extra touch ups. NOW I AM IN LOVE! I use this as my daily makeup now. Its good to know I’m actually wearing something on my face that will help it instead of making it worse!
Have you tried this yet?!
Oh and PS, its my Birthday!
