I am a foundation junkie and try to find ones that work for my oily skin. I decided to pick up Sephora 10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation to try. I like most Sephora brand products so I thought “WHY NOT?!”.
This foundation claims a lot. It claims to “Conceal blemishes, pigmentation marks, scars, and dark spots with this foundation that provides a natural, beautiful finish”. Hmm, I do not agree.
When I first put this on, the color was an okay match (shade Light Beige Natural 23 with yellow undertones), it was a tad bit darker than my skin. I ordered it online so I think I did a pretty good job guessing! Anyways, I applied it with a somewhat dense brush, the same brush I apply all my liquid foundations with. The texture is a thicker one, reminds me of Kat Von D Lock It Foundation. When applied it was very streaky, usually this brush does a great job with all sorts of liquid foundations. I had to go back and tap and blend some areas, no big deal though. It covered dark spots okay, if I wanted them to be really hidden, I would have to use concealer. This dried to a semi matte finish and like I always do, I dusted a setting powder and my foundation was done. I went to brunch with some blogger friends (Phyrra and Erika) and as I was diving home, my foundation looked horrendous. It looked cakey, it looked like it oxidized a whole lot, and it was splotchy. I was also super shiny.
If you have oily skin, I would recommend getting a sample of this and seeing how it works on your face before buying the full bottle. The foundation just didn’t play good with my skin chemistry and I actually don’t like this one at all.
Have you tried Sephora 10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation?!
