I was so so excited when I received a Kat Von D Eye Shade + Light Contour Palette from The Makeup Show! I was super excited that Kat Von D was there for the first time! I spent lots of time and money at that booth 😉
I love Kat Von D products but surprisingly, I do not have any eye shadows from her. I was going out for my birthday dinner on May 23 and decided to give this palette a try! This palette comes with 3 different sections for neutral tones, cool toned, and warm toned. You can you the section that matches your skin tone for a more natural look or you can of course mix and match them to make other fun looks! I decided to do my go to look which is a simple eye, winged liner, and a bright lip. Not only am I using the Kat Von D Eye Contour Palette, I am also using Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner, Lock It Foundation, and Bauhaus Everlasting Liquid Lipstick! As you can see, I love Kat Von D!
I am very into mattes lately so I am in love with this palette! These matte colors are very pigmented. They do have lots of fall when I put my brush in them but I didn’t notice much on my eye. Most of the colors are super smooth and don’t come out splotchy. I had a little bit of a problem with two shades but nothing I couldn’t fix with a couple more strokes. I used these shadows on top of Urban Decay Potion Primer and they stayed on all night with no creasing!
Below are swatches done on my hand on top of Urban Decay Potion Primer. For reference I am a Medium 54 in her Lock It Foundation. I have to say, my favorite shades are from the neutral and warm quad! In the picture above I used the warm quad and played around with the colors a bit. Included in this palette are instructional cards that show you where to place the colors if you want to make your eyes look more together or apart. I was too excited that I didn’t even look at them before I started playing 😉
This palette is definitely worth the $46. I use the neutral and warm quad a lot for day looks and the cool quad is my go to go for a night look! Do you want this palette?! Do you have it? If you do, I want to know your thoughts about it!
