I received a complimentary ticket to the event.
The Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa Florida had a dinner event At Council Oak with St Pete Distillery. The event consisted of a 4 course meal with hors d’oeuvres and a drink pairing for each course and with the hors d’oeuvres. The event was around $200 and included the meal and drink pairings, tax, gratuity, and a goodie bag. Chef Dave Puatu is the chef for the event as well as Council Oak.
The event started out with yummy hors d’oeuvres. They had conch fritters, purple potato latkes, and scallop ceviches.
The drink they paired with the hors d’oeuvres was a Gluten Free Banyan Reserve Vodka from St. Pete Distillery. This was very tasty and fruit with fruits and dry ice fro a great presentation! Sorry for the really bad picture of this 😉
First course was Grilled Cobia with english pea risotto heirloom jam, shaved radishes, and beet leaves. This dish had a sweetness to it from the pea and jam. So much food! To be honest, one piece of fish would have been fine for me!
The drink that was paired with the first course was a tropical gin from St Pete distillery.
The second course was a braised bershire pork cheek with smoked gouda polenta, blood orange mostarda, arugla salad, and a port wine molasses jus. This was so tasty and filling! Once again so much food! You are definitely getting your money’s worth just for these portions! I loved the barbecue- like flavor with the cheese and arugula. The drink paired with this course was St Pete Distillery’s Righteous Rum & Spice.
The third course was the smoked beef rib with a chipotle barbecue glaze, crispy smashed marble potatoes, goat cheese, and red wine vinaigrette. This was my favorite savory course! The meat was so tender and flavorful. The potatoes were OMG soooooo amazing!! I was getting really full by this point and wished I took it home with me! The drink paired with this course was a sweet corn whiskey.
The last course was dessert! There’s always room for dessert! The last course was a grand royal chocolate mousse with passion fruit toffee, lime sable crumbles, coconut lime gelato, and banana lime compote. I don’t even know how to explain how good this was without using moaning sounds! SO GOOD… SO SO GOOD. This course was paired with a royal mead honey wine.
This event happens every month with a different alcohol brand. If you love meal pairings, I would highly suggest coming to one of these, you won’t be disappointed!
