I recently made a trip to NYC specifically to eat at some 2 and 3 Michelin star restaurants. Our first stop was Marea for their seafood lunch tasting menu ($90). They are a 2 Michelin star restaurant. Now on to the pictures!!
Course 1 at Marea
ASSAGGIO DI TRE
1. long island fluke, green strawberry, basil, lemon
2. bigeye tuna, oyster crema, crispy artichoke
3. pacific jack mackerel, rhubarb, green almonds
My all time favorite appetizers are crudos! I love some raw seafood with yummy toppings! These were all different and unique.
Course 2 at Marea
ASTICE- nova scotia lobster, burrata eggplant al funghetto, basil
I would have never thought of such a delicious fresh combo! Burrata is so good with fresh ingredients and I usually have them with some sort of herbs. This was AMAZING and so freaking yummy. I wanted another plate! The basil seeds were an interesting touch too!
Course 3 at Marea
STROZZAPRETI- jumbo lump crab, sea urchin, basil
The pasta was perfectly cooked and had a great bite to it. The mixture of flavors were super unique. Such a great mix!
Course 4 at Marea
CAPESANTE- seared sea scallops, spring onion, walnut agrodolce, market lettuce
The beautiful scallops were perfectly cooked. I couldn’t even finish this dish since I was so full from the pasta!
Course 5 at Marea
PANNA COTTA- rum raisin gelato, pine nut panna cotta, rosemary, brioche
This was probably my least favorite dish. The panna cotta was good but I am not a fan of rum raisin so the I didn’t eat any of the gelato.
Extra Dish at Marea
FUSILLI- durum wheat pasta, red wine braised octopus, bone marrow.
We ordered this extra pasta dish because its super popular at Marea! MMM this was good! We got this the same time we had our other pasta and I just kept eating this one. The other one was good but this was GREAT! The octopus was cooked oh so lovely and the scallops too!
AMAZING lunch! Everything was great and would definitely go back again. My favorites were the crudos and lobster and burrata!!
Have you been to Marea before?! Will you be visiting?!
