My friend Lexi started selling Maskcara Beauty products and I was super intrigued by the custom face palettes they have! Lexi was so nice to send me one so I could try out!
About Maskcara Beauty Custom Palette
Maskcara Beauty is a beauty MLM created by a beauty blogger! Cool huh?! Lexi sent me the Maskcara custom face palette. The palette she sent me came with a highlight color, a contour shade, a blush color, and a illuminator color. They call these iiiD makeup. All these shades are used together to make a complete face look with all the contour and glam! Each single is $12 and you get a free palette if you buy 4 singles. This brand also sells a setting powder, brushes, eye shadows, and more!
How To Use iiiD Foundation
The Maskcara Beauty highlight shade is the shade you would use as your regular foundation. This confused me at first so I thought I would point that out first. The first thing I do is my contour shade which is Stone. I use it in the hollow of my cheeks, all around my face, and down my nose. I then take my highlight and put it under my eyes, forehead, nose, and chin. Next, I put a little bit of the blush on the apples of my cheek and bring it up a little towards my temple. With a slightly wet (I was going to use the word moist but I know how much some people hate that word, haha!) beauty blender, I dab and blended my face! I start on the parts where I put my highlight, then the blush, then the contour color. I then go back and add more product in areas where I need it. In this case, I add more highlight to a blemish area and made my contour a little darker. After I get my face the way I like it, I set it all with a setting powder. I then added the Illuminator on my cheek bones with my fingers after for a little glow!
My Quick Review
I was a little skeptical about trying Maskcara Beauty because of the cream foundations. My face is very oily and cream foundations are usually hit or miss, mostly being misses. I was pretty impressed though after I tried it! I definitely need a setting powder for it. My face did get oily after a few hours, but not as oily as some mineral makeup makes me. The oily control for this foundation mostly comes from whatever primer I decide to use. I was VERY pleased to see how good the highlight shade covered my pores and my blemishes! I had a heavy hand during these pictures but have used less product with great results. The contour shade had a different texture, it seemed it was harder to get the product on the brush. I wish it was a little softer but not a deal breaker or anything. The blush shade can be used as a lip and cheek color and goes on so nice! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked these.
Is It Worth It?
I would say the Maskcara Beauty foundation palette is worth the $48 price tag! WHY?! You get a whole palette for your face! I have paid this much and more for a single foundation. Also, as you may already know, I am a huge supporter of small businesses so this is a total yes for me!
Have you tried Maskcara Beauty yet? Do you want to?! If you have any questions ask Lexi in her FB group!
I’m iffy about cream foundations as well, being an oil-slick. But it looks like this one gave you full coverage and did not grease up much!
I bought her very first products and never could get the hang of them. I don’t have them anymore but I did buy some of her beautiful eyeshadows. I would consider this palette now though since I think she’s improved her products.
Hmmm, I really like the look of this palette! You know I adore creams so this is right up my alley. Very cool idea too
I have a set from Maskcara but I could never get it to look good on me.
That palette really looks like it works for you!
What an interesting foundation palette. I love the concept, and it looks great on you!
What an interesting foundation concept. I love the way that it looks on you too!
It looks pretty cool! I’ve heard so many different reviews I never know if I want to try this or not. I’m super oily also so it makes me even more nervous lol
That is a pretty nice deal for all of your face products in one compact. This one is beautiful on you!
Wow, that foundation looks amazing!
